Studies on simultaneous interpreting strategies - Alessandra Riccardi, Università degli Studi di Trieste

Strategies are a useful concept to describe simultaneous interpreting (SI) as a process. In SI literature researchers have employed the notion of strategies to indicate solutions adopted to overcome the hurdles imposed by the interpreting mode and describe changes taking place in SI when compared to the original speech.

This contribution examines how strategies have been classified and defined since the 1970s by SI researchers.
