Selection of speech websites

Collection of lists of websites for students’ self-study (first year students) in the languages represented within the EMCI member universities.

Interpreting students at the beginning of their studies in conference interpreting may find it difficult to choose speeches or texts for self-practice from the web, given the abundance of audio and video material.
The aim of this collection is to offer students a selection of annotated websites they can use for self-practice in sight translation, consecutive and in simultaneous interpreting.
For each language, CS, DE, EN, ES, FR, HR, HU, IT, NL, PT, PL, RO, SL, TR, there is a concise comment about the site in the original language.
At present, the collection includes the websites of important public institutions as well as TV or radio websites. Reference will also be found to background information about the country and the kind of exercise, sight translation, consecutive or simultaneous, they can be used for.
The collection is open, it will be further integrated with other languages. Once a year it will be updated and, when possible, extended with websites of different sectors and institutions.
